The Foundations of Our Faith
A Summary of Biblical Teachings
as proclaimed by Beit Tefillah
(2020 revision)
Introduction
This document is merrily presented by members of the Body of Messiah as a summary of the fundamental beliefs that were once delivered to the followers of Messiah, (Judah 1:3). We invite you to examine the following synopsis of the principles of our faith, and to "search all things, and hold fast to what is good" (1Thessalonians 5:21). We humbly present to you this basic summary of the teachings of the faith we hold in common.
We affirm the following to be true according to Yahweh's inspired word:
1 - HOLY SCRIPTURES (THE BIBLE)
The Holy Scriptures is inspired by Yahweh and reveals knowledge that one cannot learn on one's own. We are to live "by every word that proceeds from the mouth of Yahweh" (Matthew 4:4). "All Scripture is inspired by Yahweh, and is useful for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness" (2Timothy 3:16). "No prophecy of Scripture is of private interpretation" (2Peter 1:20). We are not to add to or take away from the Scriptures, (Deuteronomy 4:12; 12:32; Revelation 22:18). The concept of inspiration applies to writings in the original languages. Translations can contain errors, and in fact, many do. So we must look for the best translations that are closest to the original languages, especially Hebrew.
2 - THE FATHER (YAHWEH)
Father Yahweh was the sole Designer of all creation through His Son at the beginning of His Creation, (Proverbs 8:22, 31; Revelation 3:14; Colossians 1:15-17). The Name of the Heavenly Father, given in the original Scriptures is Yahweh, (Psalm 68:4; Isaiah 42:8; Jeremiah 16:21). Yah wéh is the Name of him forever, (Exodus 3:14-15; Isaiah 63:12, 66:5). His Majestic Name is exclusive to the entire family of Yahweh, (Psalms 22:22, John 17:11; Ephesians 3:14-15). He is the source of all power and authority, all thanks and reverence should be directed to Him, (Matthew 4:10; 6:9; Colossians 1:12; James 1:17; 1Peter 2:5). Yahweh is spirit, (John 4:24); and all worship must be directed to Him through His Son Yahoshua the Messiah, (John 14:6, Ephesians 5:20).
3 - THE SON (YAHOSHUA)
Yahoshua is the correct name of the Savior; It is a contraction of the combination of " Yahwéh " and " hoshúa," (Joshua's name is more correct as Yahoshúa; the word "shúa", like "hoshéa" and "yeshuáh", in Hebrew means "salvation"). Then Yahoshua, means "Yahweh is Salvation"; because the Son is the means of salvation that Yahweh provided us humans in order to be saved, (Acts 4:12). We gladly accept the names revealed by our glorious Heavenly Father Yahweh and his wonderful Son, our savior, Yahushua the Messiah. Yahoshua is the spokesman, the word (davar) that pre-existed and was with the father, Yahweh; (Genesis 1:26; John 1:1-3; 8:58; 13:3; 1Corinths 10:4; Colossians 1:15-17). He stripped the heavenly glory from him, relinquishing his heavenly rights. He came in human form as a servant, (John 17:5; Philippians 2:5-7; Hebrews 2:6-14). He was born of a virgin by the power of Yahweh, (Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; Matthew 1: 18.23; Luke 1:26-38) He Came in His Father's Name, YAH, (John 5:43). He lived his life without sinning, (Isaiah 53:9; 1Peter 2:22), and was raised from the dead by the Father after three days and three nights, according to the Scriptures, (Matthew 12:40; Acts 3:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4); and he ascended to heaven sitting at the right hand of Yahweh our Father, (Luke 24:51; Hebrews 1:13). He is now our counselor, our mediator and high priest, (Hebrews 3:1, 4:14). Only through him can we approach our Heavenly Father, (John 14:6). and ascended to heaven sitting at the right hand of Yahweh our Father, (Luke 24:51; Hebrews 1:13). He is now our counselor, our mediator and high priest, (Hebrews 3:1, 4:14). Only through him can we approach our Heavenly Father, (John 14:6).
4 - RUACH HA'KODESH (THE HOLY SPIRIT)
The holy spirit (rúaj haqódesh), or spirit of holiness, is the invisible dynamic force, the mind, the power given by the father and shared by his Son, (Luke 24:49; John 3:8; 14:17; 15 :26; 1Corinthians 2:10-16). This invisible essence or power is put into the believer through the Son, (Acts 2:33, Titus 3:6), when the believer is immersed (baptized) in the name of Yahoshua and the Elders lay hands on them, ( Acts 2:38; 5:32; 8:17; 19:6; 1Timothy 4:14; 2Timothy 1:6). It is also the baptism of the spirit because we immerse ourselves in the body of the Messiah, (Romans 8:15-17; 1Corinths 12:13; Galatians 3:28). Through the power of the Holy Spirit placed within us, we joyfully demonstrate our love for Yahoshua and our Father Yahweh by obeying his commandments, (John 14:15; 14:21-24; Acts 1:8; 1John 2:5 ). The holy spirit is like the wind, (John 3:8; Acts 10:45), a dynamic and invisible force; and he is not a person. This is why we find that the doctrine of the trinity is not based on the Inspired Scriptures, but comes from Babylonian paganism through Roman Catholicism.
5 - IMMERSION (BAPTISM)
After true repentance, baptism by immersion in water and in the saving Name of Yahoshua is a necessary act of consecration, (Matthew 3:13-17; Acts 2:38; 4:12; 8:16; 10:43; 19:5; Romans 6:3). Salvation only exists in the name of Yahoshua, (Acts 4:12). Baptism is a complete immersion, once, in water, (Acts 2:38), which symbolizes subjection and burial of the body and evil ways of life, (Romans 6:3-5; Colossians 2:12). The believer rises to serve in a new life with the spirit, (Romans 7:6; 12:1; 1Peter 3:21). There is only one baptism in the saving name of Yahoshua, which places us in one Body, (Romans 12:5; Ephesians 4:3-6). This unites all the members of the Body through the spirit in the true faith through Yahoshua, (1 Corinthians 12:12-14).
6 - THE COMMANDMENTS
Yahweh's great plan of salvation for people is only accomplished through His Son Yahoshua our Messiah and we show that we accept it when we observe his holy days and his feast days, (Leviticus 23; Numbers 28-29). The commandments (laws) about sacrificing animals and offering blood for sins in the temple are no longer necessary; they were replaced and fulfilled by Yahoshua, the Lamb of Yahweh, (John 1:29; Hebrews 8-10). Now our sacrifices are spiritual, (Romans 12:1 Hebrews 13:15-16; 1Peter 2:5). True circumcision has always been the obedience of the heart, (Deuteronomy 10:16; 30:6-8; Jeremiah 4:4; 1Corinths 7:19; Galatians 5:6; Philippians 3:3). Through the holy spirit that resides within us, it is now possible to fulfill his commandments with faith in Yahweh, (Deuteronomy 7: 9; Psalms 119: 160; Matthew 5:17-19; 19:16-19; Ephesians 2:8-10; 1John 3:21-24).
7 - SHABBAT (SABBATH DAY)
The seventh day of the week (Shabbat or Saturday) is the day that Yahweh set apart, and is a memorial of His omnipotent power, (Genesis 2:2-3). Shabbat is a holy day of rest, (Exodus 20:8-11); and points to the great millennial rest of salvation, (Matthew 11:28-30; Luke 4:16-18; Hebrews 4:1-6). Yahweh freely offers Shabbat as an opportunity to accept and experience His Wonderful creation and redemption; (Mark 2:27-28; Hebrews 4:7-11). By participating in Shabbat we express our faith in Yahoshua, as the co-Creator and co-Author with the Father and as the finisher of our salvation, (Hebrews 12:2). By resting on Shabbat we symbolize our love, loyalty and our faith in Yahweh, (Exodus 31:13). By consecrating a portion of our time, which He designated for rest and worship, we demonstrate our desire to obey Him, and we acknowledge His dominion over our lives and all of creation. The "Sabbath day of rest" remains for his people, (Hebrews 4:9), a day without work to enjoy and rest, (Isaiah 58:13).
8 - PESACH (PASSOVER)STILL WORKING ON IT
(THOSE IMMERSED INTO THE NAME OF YAHOSHUA ARE CIRCUMCISED BY MASHIACH IN HEART - RENEWED COVENANT ISRAEL). GENTILES BECOME ISRAEL AT THE TIME OF THEIR IMMERSION INTO THE NAME, AND ARE FELLOW CITIZENS OF ISRAEL (EPH. 2:8-13). UNWORTHILY, NOT BEING OF ISRAEL. NON-ISRAELITES HAVE NO COVENANT. ( SEE EPH. 2:8-13, 1COR. 11:27-30).
9 - CHAG HA'MATZOT (THE FEAST OF UNLEADED BREAD)
After sharing in the Passover, we strive to live our lives without sin and obey the commandments when we observe the seven days of eating unleavened bread, (Leviticus 23:6; Matthew 16:12; Mark 8:14-15; Luke 12 :1; Romans 6:13-22; 1 Corinthians 5:6-8). The first day of the Feast symbolizes the initial step towards the consecrated life upon leaving sin. The fifteenth day of Aviv is a time we rejoice to observe; because this annual Shabbat begins the seven days of the Feast Of Unleavened Bread. The eighth or last day is also a Sabbatical day, the 21st of Aviv, and represents the departure from the world of sin, and rebellion and following the consecrated life of our Savior, Yahoshua the Messiah, (Exodus 12:15, 20; Numbers 28 :17-25; Acts 20:6,7). We gladly remove from our houses everything that contains leaven for the seven days; we remember that we must cleanse ourselves of all false doctrine that can make us sin, because with physical acts we learn spiritual lessons. Unleavened bread is eaten for seven days, which symbolically allows us to obtain the bread of sincerity and truth (1Corinthians 5:7-8).
10 - SHAVUOT (THE DAY OF PENTECOST)
The day of Pentecost (Shavuot) or Feast of Weeks is a Sabbath day; the third Sabbath day of the Year and is a special day of assembly, (Leviticus 23:15-21; Numbers 28:26). It is counted from the day following the weekly Sabbath that falls within the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Seven Sabbaths, seven full weeks are counted, which brings us to the day after the Sabbath, being Sunday or the first day of the week. It is observed as a memorial of the day that Yahweh made the Covenant with Israel at Sinai, (Exodus 24:4-8). It was also the day that the assembly of Yahoshua received power from heaven, (Luke 24:49; John 14:26, 15:26; Acts 1:4-8). That day was fulfilled when Yahweh sent his holy spirit to earth on the day of Pentecost, (Acts 2: 1-18), to remain with his people forever, (John 14:16).
11 - YOM TERUAH (DAY OF ACLAMATION)
We eagerly await the return of Yahoshua the Messiah, our Savior, because when he returns at the sound of the last trumpet and voice of the archangel we will rejoice and receive our reward, (1Corinthians 15:22-23 and 51-53; 1Thessal 4:14-17 ; 1Peter 5:4; Revelation 2:23; 22:12). The Day of Trumpets is the fourth Sabbath observance of the year and begins in the seventh lunar month and is an assembly day, (Leviticus 23:24-25). It reminds us that we must think of the things of heaven to exalt the return of Yahoshua at the last sound of the trumpet, (Luke 21:27-28). The sound of trumpets represents the time, when Israel gathered at the sound of the trumpet, to travel or as an alarm of war, (Numbers 10:1-10).
12 - YOM HA'KIPURRIM (THE DAY OF ATONEMENT)
That the Day of Atonement was the day that Yahoshua made Atonement for us. Being reconciled by Yahoshua, Romans 5:6-11, 2 Corinthians 5:18-21; Colossians 1:19-22; Hebrews 2:18, with joy we talk with others about his glorious work. When the ninth day of the seventh lunar month ends with sunset, the new day begins (Lev. 23:32). We do not eat or drink anything for twenty-four hours until the tenth day, and it ends at sunset, (Leviticus 16:29-31; 23:27-32, Numbers 29:7). We remember that being human and carnal we need the vindicating sacrifice of Yahoshua. We also look forward to the destruction of Satan, (Hebrews 2:14), and the world existing united by Yahoshua and our Heavenly Father, (Acts 27:9; Revelation 20:1-3). Atonement is the fifth annual Sabbath day and also introduces the year of Jubilee.
13 - SUKKOT (FEAST OF BOOTHS)
The Feast of Booths represents the virtuous thousand-year reign of Yahoshua, which will come in a short time, (Zechariah 14:16). When Jesus becomes the ruler of the kingdom, there will be peace, prosperity, and happiness. He will put into effect the Commandments of his Father Yahweh, which are especially studied during this Feast. By studying them we demonstrate our faith in Yahweh's sovereignty, which he will eventually have over the whole world. An assembly time in which Yahweh has put his name; the Feast of Booths is observed for seven days, beginning on the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month (Tishri 15-21), the first day being the sixth sabbatical day of the year, (Leviticus 23:34-36, and 43; Numbers 29:12). The Feast of Booths lasts seven days, but the Last Great Day Yahoshua also observed, (John 7:37), making it an eight day celebration.
14 - THE LAST GREAT DAY
The final culmination of Yahweh's plan will be complete in the great harvest of all the people who have ever lived in the world, (Rev. 20:5), and Yahweh's eternal sentence will be fulfilled, (Rev. 20:11-15; Heb. 6:4). Known as the White Throne Judgment, (Matthew 25:32), it is prefigured by the eighth day of the Feast of Booths, the seventh Sabbath day of the year called the Last Great Day. It is the time of Yahweh's final salvation, (Leviticus 23:36; Numbers 29:35; John 7:37-38). It is then that heaven and earth will rejoice, (Isaiah 66:22; Revelation 21:1).
15 - ROSH CHODESH (THE NEW MOON)
The sacred months begin when the crescent of the new moon is seen to be very thin, (2 Kings 4:23; Nehemiah 10:33; Psalms 81:3). The Holy Scriptures indicate that the new moon days begin at the place where the new moon was observed in the particular month; and that place is Israel. Holy days begin and end at sunset, (Leviticus 23:32; Judges 14:12 and 18; Mark 1:32). New moons are to be observed in the Kingdom, (Isaiah 66:23).
16 - THE SIN (TRANSGRESSION OF YAHWEH'S LAWS)
Sin is disobedience to the commandments (the law) of Yahweh, (1John 3:4), and without the commandments (the law) there is no sin, (Romans 7:7-12). All have sinned and fall short of the glory of Yahweh, (Exodus 20:1-20; Deuteronomy 5:1-24; Romans 3:23). The punishment for sin is death, (Genesis 2:16-17, and 3:19; Romans 6:23; 1Corinthians 15:22; Hebrews 9:27). Death is sleeping in total unconsciousness, returning the body to the earth, (John 11:11-14; Ecclesiastes 9:5-6, 10; Isaiah 38:18; Psalms 115:17).
17 - THE REDEMPTION
Since we have all sinned and deserve the punishment of death, it is now necessary to repent; one has to repent for having been disobedient to Yahweh's holy Law. Now one has to change to the way of life of obedience, following the example of the life of Yahoshua the Messiah, (Matthew 19:17; John 8:11; Hebrews 6:1, 9:14). In order to free ourselves from the punishment of the law, which is death, we have to accept the sacrifice of Yahoshua the Messiah as payment for our sins, (Matthew 26:26-28; Colossians 3:13; Hebrews 9:26, 10: 12; 1Peter 2:21-24; 1John 1:7-10)). He is our Counselor and Mediator, (1Timothy 2:3-5).
18 SANCTIFICATION
Having been cleansed and set apart by faith in Jesus, we believe it is important to be clean on the inside as well as the outside. Our body is the temple of the holy spirit and we gladly adhere to the law of clean meats in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14. It is a lesson in holiness, teaching us the difference between clean and unclean, sacred and profane, (2 Corinthians 6:16-18). We are what we think, and we must discipline ourselves to be careful with the material we read, the time with television, radio, friends and associates. We must eat clean, think clean, live clean lives, we must be clean and holy before Yahweh. We must be examples to the world, (1Timothy 3:7), and be sanctified before Yahweh, (Matthew 5:48; 1Corinthians 3:17; 1Peter 1:15-16; Revelation 21:27).
19 - THE ANOINTING
Yahoshua's perfect sacrifice has made it possible for us to be healed of our illnesses, (Isaiah 53:5; James 5:13-20). Through the anointing of the sick by the Elders of the assembly in the name of Yahoshua and Yahweh, it is possible to heal our afflictions, if we simply ask Yahweh in prayer, trusting Him and following Him.
20 - THE TITHE
The issue of tithes has two aspects, two different ways of understanding it. And both are biblical: The Levitical tithe, and the Abrahamic tithe. Some assemblies favor the first way of seeing it and other assemblies favor the second way of seeing it. Members are free to choose between one and the other.
System A: The Levitical tithe. In order to support the work of teaching and education, the members of the Body of Messiah who choose this legal system are called by the law of the Scriptures to give offerings and tithes (10 percent of their income or earnings) to the local assembly, (Prov. 3:9). Not for the profit of one person but for the operation of the entire Assembly of Yahweh which we call "House of Worship or in our terms "House of Prayer. These tithes can be delivered at any time of the month or year for the edification of the Hebrew educational and restoration work, (Mal 3:8-12; Lev. 27:30-33; Matt. 23:23). The offerers can eat of their tithe during the holy Feasts, and also share it with the poor according to the Law, (Deut. 14:22-26, Deut. 14:27-29, Deut. 26:12-17). The responsibility of the Assembly towards Elohim exists since the apostles even when it was not always exercised, or it is waived by the ministry (2Corinthians 12:13-18). Because the Messiah dispatched the disciples, two by two, and they would be sustained in that work by the Assembly with which they work (Luke 10:1-12). Those who are employed in temple services and proclaim the Good News must be supported by the Good News (1Cor. 9:13-14). It is the responsibility of the Assembly to support, where possible, those who labor and teach the Good News on a full-time basis. (1 Timothy 5:17-18; Deut 24:14-15).
Tithes are acceptable to Yahweh except where expressly stated to be improper gain or where sacrificed to idols (1Cor. 10:27). Tithes are paid to the local Assembly so that it can help its members who are in need (1Tim. 5:9-10,16). The laws on crop tithes apply only to those who have farms or farms cultivated in the land of Israel.
He who does not support his needy parents and especially his own family denies the faith and is worse than an infidel (1Tim. 5:8).
System B : The Abrahamic tithe . Also called system by vote or promise. This is a tithe that is offered voluntarily or through a vote. It is not regulated by the law of Sinay but existed before Sinay among the worshipers of Yahweh. It is the tithe that Abraham offered to the priest Melchizedek, and the one that Jacob offered to Yahweh. (Gen. 14:20 and 28:22). Believers who choose to follow this voluntary system dedicate their tithes to help the poor and needy in general, but especially those in the family.
21 - THE ADVERSARY
There are also two ways to view this topic. Some brothers understand that Satan is a spirit that was a cherub named Lucero; that his high pride caused his expulsion from heaven, (Isaiah 14:12-20; Ezekiel 28:13-19; Luke 10:18; Revelation 12:7-9). That the devil is the adversary of Yahweh and his people, (John 8:44; Revelation 12:10), and that he will eventually destroy them, (Isaiah 14: 18-19; Ezekiel 28:16; Romans 16 :20; Hebrews 2:14). It is understood that Satan's intention is to destroy Yahweh's future kingdom, (Matthew 4:1-11). With Yahweh's help we can resist the devil and he will flee from us, (James 4:7).
Other number of brothers understand that the Satan was created to serve as tester of humanity and prosecutor in the trial; and that when he fulfills his mission he will finally be eliminated in the lake of fire, which is symbolic of the second death, (Rev. 20:10 and 14). This is similar to the case of Nebuchadnor, who exceeded the punishment that Yahweh commissioned him to inflict on Judah and therefore Yahweh punished him as well.
22 - MORTALITY
The dead are unconscious in their graves, asleep in their death and awaiting the resurrection, (Job 14:12-14; Daniel 12:2; John 5:29; 1Corinthians 15:51-56; 1Thessal. 4:13-17; Hebrews 11:13, 39). Immortality is what we seek, (Romans 2:7; 1Corinthians 15:53-54), and it is possible through the work of Yahoshua the Messiah, (John 3:15; 17:2-3; 2Timothy 1:10 ). Only Yahweh has immortality, (1 Timothy 1:17, 6:16). The souls of human beings are not immortal, (Psalms 6:5; 115:17; Isaiah 26:19); and souls can die, (Ezekiel 18:4, 20; Matthew 10:28).
23 - THE BODY OF BELIEVERS
Yahoshua the Messiah is the foundation and cornerstone of His body (the qehilah, the ekklesia). The assembly of the Messiah consists of the faithful believers since the day of Pentecost, (Acts 2), who have accepted the sacrifice of our sacred Savior and who have changed their lives according to the word of Yahweh, (Matthew 12:50). The training and preparation to receive the Kingdom is done through the body of the faithful (1Peter 2:5 and 9-10; Revelation 1:6, 20:6). It is in the qehilah, the ekklesía where the spiritual gifts are exercised to perfect the saints, in the work of the ministry, to build the body of the Messiah, (Ephesians 4:7-13; 1 Corinthians 12:7-10; 28-30 ). In the assembly the spiritual fruits are manifested, (Galatians 5:22-23), and our relationship with the members of the assembly must be the same as with Yahoshua, (Matthew 12:50; 25:40).
24 - THE STATUS OF WOMEN IN THE ASSEMBLY
The women of the assembly are called to cover their heads during public prayer, this is the custom practiced today, which was established during the time of the apostle Paul. Paul wrote his reasons in 1Corinthians 11:1-16. Yahweh is the head of everything, including Yahoshua. Yahoshua is now our High Priest and symbolically wears a miter of that office, (Leviticus 21:10). In the world, man represents the glory of Yahweh and stands uncovered before Him. Women represent the glory of man and must have their heads covered (kataluptos). (The text of the Reina-Valera version of the Holy Scriptures does not clarify what Paul explains about Yahweh's arrangements). The multitude of angels in heaven testify to the activities of men, (1Corinthians 4:9). The man is the head of the family and he must love his wife, as Yahoshua loves the assembly, (Ephesians 5:23-25). The Scriptures teach a pattern of leadership regarding our positions of authority in the Community and at home, (1 Cor. 11:1-16; 1 Tim. 2:2-15; 1 Pet 3:1-7). In relation to this order, the woman is called to cover her head with a veil during public prayer and when she exhorts others if a male brother is present. The spirit of holiness instructs us through Paul that man should not cover himself with a veil. Therefore we reject the rabbinic custom of covering the head of men with a the woman is called to cover her head with a veil during public prayer and when exhorting others if a brother is present. The spirit of holiness instructs us through Paul that man should not cover himself with a veil. Therefore we reject the rabbinic custom of covering the head of men with atalit or a yarmulke for prayer.
The Scriptures command modesty, modesty, and decency in dress for both women and men (1 Tim. 2:8-10). This includes appropriately covering the body and avoiding displaying it. For this reason, the use of low-cut blouses or shorts or pants attached to the body or ripped according to the worldly fashion that prevails today, which borders almost on nudity, is not approved.
25 - LOVE
We must be the example of the faith we profess. Our example is that of Yahoshua, the Messiah whom we try to emulate, love, honesty, humility, faith, hope, patience and reverence, (Leviticus 19:17-18; Matthew 5, 6, 7, 22:39; 1 Corinthians 6 :1-11; 1Pet 2:21-23).
Love is the greatest attribute that we try to maintain in our homes, in our assemblies and in our communities. Love is altruistic, focused on others and considers other people. Love must be seen among the members of the assembly wherever they are, because it is the distinguishing mark of Yahweh's people.
We believe that salvation is offered to everyone. Yahweh is The Creator of all nations and has made his House a house of prayer for all peoples, (Isaiah 56: 7; Acts 8: 27-39; Galatians 3:28 and Colossians 3:11). Yahweh's love manifested in the sacrifice of His Son, Yahoshua the Messiah, is available to all (Revelation 3:20; 22:17). We show that we love him when we obey his commands, 1John 2: 5; 5:3; 2John 6).
QUALIFICATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP
Repentance, baptism in the Name of Yahoshua, and receiving the Ruach Ha'Kodesh (holy spirit) are the steps one needs to take to become a member of the Body of Messiah, Acts 2:38. A life of progress, knowledge and grace in Yahoshua, each one seeking his own salvation, with fear, reverence, and obedience to the royal law that teaches the true conversion that is expected of all, Philippians 2:12; Ephesians 4:13. Each member must also recognize this as a basic summary of the solid teachings, proclaimed in the Inspired Scriptures.
(Following in the footsteps of Yahoshua the Messiah can also include the wearing of a beard. It is not mandatory, but scripture teaches that a beard was worn by Yahoshua (Isa. 50:6) and scripture also speaks about wearing a beard.) the beard by the men of Israel, Leviticus 14:9; 13:29-30; but it is not a command, Leviticus 19:27; 21:5. The use of the beard depends on the preference of each person) .
